BORN IN NEW JERSEY, EVELYN KAIN studied at Barnard College and earned a PhD in Art History at the University of Vienna, Austria. Her early research and writing was on European medieval art. Later on she devoted her interests to the work of women artists. She lived in Austria with her husband and two sons for thirteen years.As an art historian, Evelyn wrote articles and lectures about medieval art, women artists, and Vienna 1900. She also translated scholarly books from German to English.Evelyn wrote short stories and flash fiction about everyday life. She wrote nature poems and cookbooks, and she illustrated books for her grandchildren. Her play, UNFORGETTABLE, is set in the global pandemic. WATER ON STONE is her most recent work.
