The book presents a methodological framework to evaluate and reengineer the hospital supply chain, emphasizing the performance definition. Case study applications are included to illustrate the method. It is based on the recognition that only financial indicators lead to poor performance in the long term, that the economic context has an influence on the supply chain organizations and that the different stakeholders of the hospital don t share the same perspectives. The framework is generic and flexible, based on an AS-IS description and TO-BE situations. It can be used as a layer to an enterprise engineering methodology. It provides guidance to users to identify parts of the supply chain that need to be reengineered, to suggest enhancements on the basis of performance indicators and to evaluate them before their implementation. The originality is based on the value and performance model designed to guide the user in the definition of multi-dimensional indicators in accordance with the hospital s values and considering the different stakeholders points of view.
