About the Author Hon K. Poon MD FACS is a retired general surgeon. He is of Chinese descent born and raised in the 1940s to the 1950s in Hong Kong. After obtaining his MD degree in a military medical academy in Taiwan, the Republic of China, he immigrated to the United States and received his surgical training in the East Coast. He then moved to the Mid-South where he raised his family and had a life time private practice of general surgery for thirty some years until his retirement in 2012. He now lives with his wife in Las Vegas, Nevada where he is very involved in creative writing.
