Renewable energy is generally defined as energy that comes from resources which are naturally replenished on a human timescale such as sunlight, wind, rain, biomass, tides, waves and geothermal heat. One of the renewable energy sources is biomass. In the last years, many experimental and research activities started, with the aim at producing biofuels from the promotion of waste from the food industry and the urban waste sector. The objective of this work was to evaluate hydrogen and methane production yields for anaerobic digestion process of water buffalo manure, highlighting the differences and drawbacks that emerged in the evaluation of process yields related to the nature of the used substrates and the specific operating conditions.
