Cooperative learning among students is an essential element of inclusive classrooms. Cooperative learning represents a shift in educational paradigm from teacher-centered approach to a student-centered learning in small group. Cooperative learning has received increased attention in recent years due to the movement to educate students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment. In a multicultural classrooms conflicting &competitive atmosphere are likely to happen and one can expect a hostile atmosphere in the class. On the contrary, cooperative learning encourages group work and believes in consensus. It encourages students to take up responsibilities and negotiate with group members. In cooperative classroom, students with special needs can learn desired behaviors and learn academically within their learning community.
