The military-industrial complex threatens the safety of the very people it exists to protect. A closely guarded secret could upend democracy and open the doors to unchecked militarism. Disabled war veteran turned private investigator Acacia Fone returns to northern New Mexico after being away for fifteen years. She finds the American Southwest under siege by catastrophic climate change and unrelenting silver tsunamis. Her hometown of Agua Dulce has changed as well, and before she can wrap her head around these changes, Acacia is whisked away to Tres Veces, New Mexico. There, she is hired by the family members of deceased environmentalist, Josephine Ramirez, who want closure and justice. Acacia's investigation into Josephine's death embroils her in a conspiracy involving corrupt politicians, the military-industrial complex, and the U.S. Congress. Her investigation uncovers a new surveillance technology that, if it exists, could tear apart a deeply polarized country. Acacia's resolve will be tested to its limits, and she must determine if finding the truth is worth the risks involved. G.
