MGNREGs play a significant role to meet the practical as well as strategic needs of women's participation. There are various factors which encourage the women worker's participation under this scheme which include nature of work (which do not need skilled worker), the limited hours of work, availability of work locally, reduction of migration of male member, substantial jump in the wage rate etc . Guaranteeing employment by national governments to ensure full employment has emerged as an important strategy at the global level. These programmes have noted a number of positive impacts on women, such as their large-scale participation in these programmes, an increase in their self-earned incomes, and the use of these incomes for the wellbeing of their own households. MGNREGs is considered as a powerful instrument for poverty alleviation in rural areas. Through, the researcher has come up with two pertinent questions: Whether women have become empowered or not? And second, Does the MGNREG scheme has helped women to become empowered?
