The only squirrel species under family Sciuridae collected in Jorhat district was identified as Dremomys lokriah macmillani Thomas. This book will be helpful for the people working in the field of rodents, their habit and habitat studies.

Kongkona Sarmah, completed M.Sc.(Agriculture) from Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, Assam in the year 2004. She received University Merit scholarship during her graduate and post-graduate studies. Now undergoing research work in the department of Zoology in Gauhati University. She has published number of papers during her course of studies.
