Science is neutral. So goes the saying. Can scientists stay neutral in the face of globalisation in a fierce competitive world? No doubt, it is the job of the scientist to develop science. However, can he stay oblivious to what scientific findings are doing to the world around him and to the development of man himself? Should not the scientist use his intelligence, knowledge, education and logic to contrive to build a world where not only the young, the healthy, the intelligent, the wealthy and the powerful have the necessity of life but also the old, the sick, the less endowed, the poor and those deprived of power?
