From Jeff Beck to Wilko Johnson, Ray Davies to Tom Jones and Kevin Ayers to Roger Taylor, Kate Mossman has long fostered an interest in male musicians of a certain age. Featuring nineteen in-depth profiles conducted for Word magazine and the New Statesman, Men Of A Certain Age explores the lives of some of the most influential rockers of our time, but it is also a personal story - of music and obsession, and of the deep unconscious projections to be found at play with the famous people who most capture our hearts. The book chronicles the lives of some of the biggest rockstars of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, including Brian May, Jon Bon Jovi, Gene Simmons, Sting, Johnny Rotten, Jeff Beck, Wilko Johnson and Nick Cave. As Kate travels 5,000 miles across the United States to try and find Glen Campbell and to the depths of the Cornish countryside for a rendezvous with Roger Taylor, will she finally unravel the roots of her obsession with men of a certain age?
