Armed with a name, she accepts the challenge of learning the game, in hopes that it will get her to where she needs to be. Close enough to the man that killed her father. Faced with nothing but opposition and treachery, she rises to the top. She meets a man who has a similar background, or so she thought. Being betrayed on every turn on a quest to find this man, she receives heart ache after heart ache. Will she get close to this man her crew takes her out? Or will she fall victim to her own murderous plot?

Kateri was born in July 1972 in North Charleston, South Carolina. Shortly after she relocated to New York with her mom and grandparents. But every summer she found herself back in South Carolina. There she developed a love for cooking and spent most of her time in the kitchen with her aunt learning how to cook. Eventually she went off to Laurinburg Institute in North Carolina. Where she found, herself cooking for her dorm mates. There she met a great teacher that reinforced her love of English and Literature. Along with her grandmother's words of always writing your thoughts down, and the teachers help. She began writing short stories of things she saw every day. Graduating from the high school, she decided to attend St. John's University. Where she studied Psychology to help with her writing. After graduation, she became lost and wasn't sure that she wanted to go into Psychology. So, she began working in Banquets. She had a yearning for cooking. But by this time, she had a son and knew that she couldn't chase her dream with the responsibility of raising her son. So, she stayed in Banquets and worked her way up, while writing a novel. But the call of the kitchen was too strong for her. So, she decided to attend culinary school. She completed her first novel in 2008, and upon completion, she shopped it around to several Agents, and after she got several rejections, she focused on her future in the kitchen. Joining Facebook, she met a publisher and he released her first novel, and encouraged her to write cookbooks, after seeing her pictures of the food she prepared. Since then she has written six cookbooks, of her family and personal recipes that she created. In between writing Kateri runs her two Businesses. Purple Diamond Caterer, a full-service Event Planning company, and Kateri's Soul Sinsations, her Personal Chef service. Kateri is signed to Diamond Kut Publications where she has put out five books, and is due to have several more released this year. Kateri has been featured in The Source Magazine, Respect Magazine, Jackthriller Magazine, and Wazzuptonight, Treasure Blue has even quoted on her writing style, "A good writer is a person who's willing to tell the brutal honesty about their world, but a GREAT writer, Kateri, is a person who's willing to tell the brutal honesty about themselves"
