This story centers around a young monster who is afraid of the light. Marvin is a young monster who lives in a very special place called Ghoul City. In this city, life is a little different from what you and I are used to. Monsters are nocturnal; which means that they like to play at night and sleep during the day. As this young monster stays up past his bedtime, he peers out of his window and is frightened by how different everything is. He makes a variety of comparisons between the night and the day. When the situation becomes too overwhelming, he runs to his parents for comfort. His father brings him to bed and proceeds to tuck him in for a second time. They have a heart-to-heart, with his father explaining that a great monster is not necessarily fearless, but courageous. He learns the value of overcoming his fears and finds a special way to fall back asleep.

Autorenporträt
My name is Katheryne Dubreuil. I have dreamed about being a writer for as long as I can remember. I got my Bachelor's degree in Law and Legal studies from Carleton University. As the pandemic hit the globe, I thought that this book would be a fun project to accomplish. Since obtaining my degree I have worked for the Lester B. Pearson School Board and the Ottawa Catholic School Board as an Integration Aide helping students who may need a little more assistance navigating through their high school experiences. I hope that this book provides joy to those who read it.
