Ten-year-old twins in the Amazon Jungle, one observant and cautious, the other bold and courageous, spot a jaguar. Is it a friend or a foe? They ask for hunting advice then daringly go off on their own. Can they provide for themselves? Adjust to new situations? Guard themselves when danger threatens? The exotic setting is real. The story is based on a campfire legend told by the native Quechua Indians along the Napo River in Ecuador to encourage children to be attentive and brave. Values of individual differences, working together, family compassion and preserving the environment are mixed with two suspenseful jaguar encounters and an explosive trick the twins play on their doting mother. Life's challenges exist in the modern world as well as in primitive jungles. Feel a tremor of fear and the electricity of coping as you walk with the Amazon Twins and Confront a Jaguar!
