Margaret Heller has everything she ever wanted in life: the perfect husband, adorable kids, a wonderful job with great friends. Her days are filled with t-ball practices, dance recitals, and bonfires with friends and family. Just as Margaret is basking in the glow of a self-proclaimed perfect life, fate reveals different plans, plans she's not ready to accept. Thrust into a world that no longer makes sense and a world she no longer wants to be a part of, Margaret finds solace in the escape books provide, becoming a voracious reader to an almost damaging degree. To further escape her new reality, Margaret takes her library to Hawaii, further removing herself from her painful past. While on the sandy beaches of Waikiki Beach, Margaret meets adventure-loving Will who refuses to let her waste her vacation away behind a book, and her plans of doing nothing but reading and getting a tan are derailed. As she slowly begins to discover all the island has to offer, Margaret starts to remember how beautiful the world can be and how it feels to open her heart again after immense grief. But it's also incredibly painful, and Margaret must decide to either keep running from her past or face her new life head-on, in all its painful beauty. Running Home is a story of life and loss, grief and joy. It's about trying to find yourself when life doesn't go as planned, and the relationships in our life that shape us along the way.Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.

Autorenporträt
Born and raised in Minnesota, I grew up spending as much time as I could outdoors. If I wasn't exploring the wilderness or spending my time in a lake, I was sprawled on a blanket under the shade in my backyard, a pile of books to keep me company. I still live in Minnesota with my husband and two kids and our dog to keep me company (though every winter my husband tries to convince me to move, and every year he gets a little closer to success...). I work in Learning and Development for a health care company by day, a writer by night, and a mother 24/7. I love to play in the kitchen and try new recipes. I'll never tire of watching FRIENDS, Ted Lasso, or The Office. I love to get my hands dirty gardening, fishing, or camping. I love fiercely, feel deeply, and live joyously. Thunderstorms, babies, and puppies all make me smile. Running Home is my first novel.
