Katrina grew up an introverted child and had a massive love for reading. As this love grew, it allowed her to cultivate a passion for creative writing and to inspire teachable moments within Black households. King was born on Juneteenth 2020. Katrina is an alumna of Western Illinois University, where she earned her degree in African American Studies. Growing up in the Austin neighborhood in Chicago, Katrina always understood the value of education and knowledge of self. She is currently working toward her second degree. When Katrina isn't studying or writing, you can find her spending time with family and inspiring teachable moments in them. The teachable moment that changed Katrina's life was when she realized that where she comes from isn't a scar, but a badge of honor, and no matter the stereotypes aimed at her, she is royal. Katrina is also very involved in the community, supporting children in foster care around the city of Chicago
