The book 'Social Forestry and Environmental Management' is the result of team work by intensive field work and data analysis which will be helpful for the university students and doctoral research fellows who are working on environmental study, especially in forest crisis and its impact on human livelihood. This book is classified into seven chapters. Chapter I presents a detailed account of the study area with its physico-cultural setting. Chapter II describes the policy and management section of the study area. Chapter III explorers the views of people awareness on social forestry through personal survey. In chapter IV the role of forest division and their plantation works by govt. schemes are described. Chapter V focuses on the benefits of social forestry. Chapter VI examines the management part of the research work. At Last in chapter VII problems and their planning are given. A no of tables, good maps and diagrams and thematic plates are given which enriches the quality of the research.
