Satish M Totey is currently Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Advance Neuroscience Allies Pvt. Ltd. A Ph.D from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, Totey was a faculty at the National Institute of Immunology from 1983 to 2001. He moved to industry in 2001 and became the Director of Stem Cell Research at Reliance Life Sciences, Mumbai, India. In 2004 he move to Bangalore as Chief Scientific Officer, Stempeutics Research Pvt. Ltd. He established a research and production laboratory at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He was also instrumental in industry scale manufacturing of mesenchymal stem cells from bone marrow, adipose tissues, dental pulp and umbilical cord. He is one of the pioneers in establishing human embryonic stem cell lines in the country and also established the first official clinical trials in India and Malaysia. Dr. Totey has published over 100 papers and edited 2 books and his research interests include neurodegenerative disorders.
