This thesis deals with overhead power lines movement monitoring. This may cover voltages from 70 kV to 400 kV. Sensors are placed on the conductors and the main objective is to evaluate their mechanical behaviour from low frequencies (fraction of Hz) to high frequencies (some tens of Hz). This document has evaluated the possibilities to reproduce large low frequency movements as those observed in large turbulent wind, short-circuit, ice shedding, galloping or any other cause. This aims to help operators and designers make decisions. The robustness of the development includes the…mehr

The robustness of the development includes the introduction/combination of new sensors, the appropriate mathematical development needed to reproduce what has been measured and this has been done on records obtained either by simulations, laboratory tests or actual measurements on line.
Autorenporträt
I was born in small town near Brno where I started my studies of Electrical Power Engineering on high school and later on Brno University of Technology. During my studies I was on Erasmus stage on Liege University where I was writing my Diploma thesis. After studies I become Protection relay & Commissioning Engineer in very known world corporation.
