The book deals with study of the properties, advantages and disadvantages of organic, semi-organic and inorganic with broad perspective in detail. Growth single crystals of 4-hydroxy 3-methoxy benzaldehyde (vanillin), an excellent molecular NLO material, from melt by Bridgman technique is reported for the first time. Precise temperature profile plot of the resistive furnace was measured using a simple PC based time-temperature data logging system. Vanillin is a potential candidate for a blue light generator from IR diode laser light. New single crystals of L-Histidine mono hydrochloride…mehr

New single crystals of L-Histidine mono hydrochloride (LHMHCL), L-Histidine di hydrochloride(LHDHCL), bis thiourea zinc Acetate (BTZA) and KDP:La are grown from aqueous solution. For growth of bulk crystals of La:KDP, accelerated seed rotation method was employed and rotated on both direction using a stepper motor driven by microcontroller. UV-Vis spectra show excellent transmission through the visible region up to 1100 nm. Laser damage threshold values were determined using Q-switched Nd:YAG laser operating at 1064 nm and with 25 ns pulses in single shot mode. The powder SHG efficiency was better than materials like KDP and CTA.
