A line x tester analysis was carried-out by using six lines and 11 testers and their resulting 66 hybrids of pearl millet in order to estimate heterosis, combining ability and nature of gene action involved in the inheritance of grain yield and its components. Many parents used in crossing programme showed good general combining ability which can be further used for obtaining desirable crosses.

Mr. Mungra Ketan has obtained his master degree in Junagadh Agricultural University in the field of genetics and plant breeding in 2014. He has secured first class with distinction in the M.Sc. and currently study in Ph.D. He has worked on pearl millet for heterosis, combining ability and gene action studies.
