I don't want to!

Part of growing up is doing things you don't want to do,

like getting dressed or sharing your toys or going to bed.

But sometimes you have to anyway-even if you don't feel like it.

And that's the Deal.

And most of the time, the thing you didn't want to do turns out

to be not too bad.

Sometimes it even ends up being fun!

Parents are used to hearing "But I don't want to!" In And That's the Deal, mom and grandmom Kelly Joseph shows a simple, effective solution to stop the arguing, reduce the stress, and build strong relationships with children. By identifying the benefits of doing what kids don't want to do, parents can shift the conversation from "I don't want to" to "And that's the deal."

Autorenporträt
Kelly Joseph is a former New Jersey All-State basketball player, Division 1 athlete, and homeschooling mother of four. She has served as a youth and high school basketball coach and is a retired high school math teacher. Kelly now turns her energy to helping young parents navigate the trials and blessings of nurturing successful, joyful, and productive families. As a grandmother ("Kiki") of six and counting, Kelly uses many of the same techniques and phrases with her grandchildren as she did with her children. Inspired by her grandchildren and with the desire to entertain and equip families through the child-raising years, Kelly launched Kiki Books. Kelly lives in central Ohio with her husband Chris, and in close proximity to their four children and their families.
