When Kelly Ryner moved to Australia in 2020, she was inspired to pick up her paint brushes to become a Wildlife Conservation Artist. But it was while raising two orphaned kangaroo joeys that she began dreaming about how to connect with children, hoping that they could grow up wanting to protect our wildlife. So, between bottle feeds and long walks in the Australian Bush watching Max and Indie grow up, she was inspired to write and illustrate her first book.Internationally recognized for her soulful wildlife portraits in watercolor, Kelly portrays the animals in her books with delicate realism. She communicates their personalities and shared human qualities while staying faithful to their true animal selves. A significant portion of all profits she receives from her books will always be distributed to local sanctuaries, organizations, and individual carers looking after wildlife rescue and welfare.
