This book is a product of my MSc thesis. It presents the theoretical and practical aspects of insect pest management methods applied in the current agriculture. Botanicals have been an important part of the integrated pest management (IPM) systems. here, the famous plant (Hagenia abyysinica)that served for tradtional medicine in East Africa to treat internal parasites and malaria was applied as botanical control against pea aphid (Acyrthosiphon pisum) and bean weevil (Acanthoscelides obtectus). As a traditional medicine it is still used to expel human tapeworm among the majority of Ethiopian societies. The flower and wood extracts of this plant significantly reduced the damage caused by these two important pests of pulse crops.
