The present study was conducted during 2012 in Jimma town, Oromia Regional State. Seventy-two youth working at small and micro enterprises that took technical and Entrepreneurship Development Training at JAMRC, Jimma town who had started an enterprise formed the sample for the study. Data was collected on socio-economic characteristics, success rate of training program, time lag in establishing an enterprise, extent of income and employment generation through the wood and metal work manufacturer enterprises and factors contributing to and inhibiting the establishment and development of an enterprise using a pre-tested structured interview schedule. Majority (67.22%) of the trainees started the enterprises after taking the training from the center. Nearly 55.33 per cent of the trained young entrepreneurs started their enterprise 6 months after taking the training. An average income of 19, 833 Birr was generated from wood and metal work at once followed by 17, 512 Birr and 14, 321 Birr only metal work and through only wood work business respectively. Majority (65.28 %) of the trained youth entrepreneur had generated medium range of employment through their enterprise.
