After the Second World War, the German region of East Brandenburg became the Polish region of Ziemia Lubuska. Dr. Kerstin Hinrichsen studierte Kulturwissenschaften und Geschichte Ostmitteleuropas in Frankfurt (Oder), Wrocław und Berkeley. Sie promovierte 2015 an der Universität Siegen.
