The tool is currently being used in a landmark multi-site, longitudinal study being conducted by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing in the United States.

Dr. Leighton is a world-renown expert in the use of patient simulation as a teaching strategy. During her tenure as President of the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning, INACSL developed and published the first Standards of Best Practice for Simulation. Her main focus is on facilitator development.
