The book deals with issues related to multicultural education implementation in English teaching. Firstly, main approaches to multicultural education are described. Subsequently, choice of transcultural approach as the main theoretical concept of the thesis is justified. Thirdly, basic school English teachers' ideas about multicultural education and its implementation as well as their current multicultural education practice are examined by means of semi-structured interviews. The author studied Lower Secondary School Teacher Training in English Language and Literature and Special Education together with Experiential Reflective Learning for Teachers. She is currently living in Brno, the Czech Republic, working in Academic Center of Personal Development (www.acor.cz).
