Autorenporträt
Kristina Sunshine Jung is the daughter of two of the most notorious drug smugglers worldwide, Mirtha and George Jung. She was featured in the movie Blow depicting her parents' criminal days as Medellin Cartel members and cocaine smugglers. When Kristina was a child, her father was in and out of prison multiple times for drug-related cases. Her mother Mirtha Jung, on the other hand, although depicted as an addict in the movie, went on to recover from drugs, and live a life of complete sobriety for over 20 years. For over 20 years Kristina chose to remain completely anonymous. Up until her father's release in 2014, she had shared none of her own story or pictures publicly. It was her choice to save her story until now. After waiting patiently for her father's release, she has now authored Recovery from Blow, a first-hand account of her mother and father's story, through her experience. Now a mother herself, Kristina's willingness to share her story is motivated by the chance of bringing a greater understanding to others that have a story just like hers but didn't get the notoriety that the film Blow brought her.
