Dr Kurian is a Catholic priest, belongs to the Religious Order, Carmelites of Mary Immaculate. He specialised the ¿nadä spirituality of John of the Cross at Teresianum, Rome. He served as a missionary in various countries including PNG. He taught at various seminaries in India and abroad. At present he is the Director of Sevagram Special School.
