Solar energy is a renewable, and a pollution-free source of energy that is ubiquitously available in sufficient quantity. Solar energy is, in fact, the only renewable resource that has enough terrestrial energy potential to produce 10-20 TW carbon-free power by 2050 year. In a word, solar technology becomes as an integral part of the solution to meet the world's energy demand. Nanostructured photovoltaics provide opportunites to use low-cost methods to achieve high efficiency and reliable solar power.
