This study has made an attempt to analyze the thematic implications of some representative oral lyric poetry played in Ashenda. Nevertheless, since the focus of this study is the literary aspects of the lyrics played in Ashenda, it is not enough in recording the whole assortment of the festival. So the researcher suggests to all academicians who are engaged particularly in the field of literature to use this research work as a spring board. Habtemariam Amare GebremeskelThe author was born in Mekelle, the capital city of Tigray, Ethiopia.He received Bed degree in English and MA degree in English Literature from Mekelle Univesity in 2009 and 2011/12 repectively.Since 2011/12 onwards, he is working as lecturer and Head, Department of English and Literature at Wachemo/Hosana University.
