In orthodontics, treatment planning is executed based on a detailed problem list which is generated from thorough assessment of the patient, inspection of the clinical nature and evaluation of investigative records comprising dental casts, radiographs & photographs. Gonial Angle(GA) is the angle between the mandibular plane and the posterior border of the Ramus. It is a significant assessment which helps measure growth, aids in treatment planning in surgical cases and is of tremendous value to forensic dentists. GA aids in the extraction decisions for Class III surgical patients6. Given that our treatment decisions rely on its value, it is essential that the methods and tools used to measure it our as reliable as well.
