This book- which is the work of qualitative scientific investigation in the way it deals with modern linguistic concepts in linguistics- aims at investigating the accusative case in English and Arabic. As a matter of fact, accusative case in Arabic is dominating the other two types, namely, nominative and genitive. Accordingly, a need for according for accusative case in Arabic is in order. For the best of our knowledge, no study has been conducted to account for accusative case in Arabic as covering term. There are some scattered studies carried out to account for accusative case assignment in Arabic, but these studies are restricted to some accusative case constructions in Arabic. No study has covered all accusative case constructions in Arabic under one title. Moreover, most of those studies were based on theories prior to the Minimalist Program, GB theory, for example. Thus, one of the main objectives of this dissertation is to find a covering umbrella for accusative case constructions in Arabic and to indicate to the similarities and differences between the Similarities of Case Assignment in English and Arabic.
