The author observed three English lessons in the United Arab Emirates, Thailand and Indonesia respectively. On the basis of the weaknesses of the lessons he recorded and some instructional models and learning theories, the author developed a new template of lesson planning that is named "RECA" (the acronym of Revision, Exploration, Construction and Application) for language teachers. The author hopes RECA will contribute to the ever-developing discipline of language teaching.
