This book covers the results of a study which investigated the relationship between language learners' critical thinking ability and their reading comprehension achievement. Different aspects of critical thinking including its history, definitions, importance, functions and different researches in the field were discussed. To examine the relationship between the aforementioned variables two BA English literature classes from a Persian language speaking context were selected as the setting of the study. The result of the statistical analysis revealed that there was a positive and moderately high correlation between the two variables of the present study and that the students' scores on the critical thinking test could to an acceptable degree predict their success or failure in the IELTS academic reading section.
