Hans Aili is Professor Emeritus of Latin at Stockholm University, where he received his PhD in 1979 on a dissertation on Latin prose rhythm, and was made Professor in 1999. He taught undergraduates at all levels on Latin syntax, Latin prose and poetry, and Vulgar Latin, and monitored graduate students, while publishing works on Medieval and Neo Latin.
