Hypertension and diabetes are causing affliction to the lives of most people in the world. Statistics available at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi, one of Ghana s leading hospitals, show that about two-thirds of diabetic patients are hypertensive. A case study conducted on the characteristics of those diagnosed as having diabetes with hypertension and diabetes without hypertension at the KATH diabetic clinic indicates both conditions are increasing exponentially. This book identifies the risk factors responsible for the incidence of diabetes and hypertension. It also provides an assessment of the situation and educates people on the need to take preventive measures where possible against the development of diabetes and hypertension.
