Smith has loved reading and writing for as long as she can remember, which prompted her to become a librarian in the Pacific Northwest, working in schools and public and academic libraries. She started out telling stories to her brother and sister and the children she babysat, then began writing her stories down. When she isn't reading or writing, Heather enjoys walking, biking, doing yoga, baking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She currently lives in The Pas, Manitoba.
