The Middle East region is oftenly described as a scene of political and economic turmoil. This conviction has allied with a dominant premise within Middle East Area Studies that systemic attributes are the most salient for understanding the complexities and the peculiarities of the region. This trend underestimated the multidimensional nature of the security issues of the Middle East, specially regional and national dimensions. This book aims at answering some important questions regarding the Middle East security complex nature. It starts with unraveling the term 'security', which is problematic to conceptualize, as well as the constituting units of this term is even more complex i.e which security are we talking about? Is it the security of the individual, the state, the region,or all of them? Towards this aim, this book will be divided into two main parts. The first will provide a panoramic study for the various theoretical models in the discipline on security. The second part will provide a synthesis model that can adequately address the diverse security issues of the region as well as the national security policies of its constituting states.
