Artist, writer, and blogger Heidi Hanson has been educating people about trauma healing through her blog The Art of Healing Trauma since 2012. Heidi's illustrated articles focus mostly on somatic therapies such as Somatic Experiencing and the Community Resiliency Model; however, she also introduces many of her own therapeutic tools derived from self-observation. In 2017, Heidi published The Art of Healing Trauma Coloring Book, which features self-therapy, trauma healing exercises accompanied by coloring pages. She has also produced a collection of educational posters for trauma therapists. Heidi holds a BA in Psychology from Mills College. A lifelong learner, Heidi has also taken many self-development courses in topics such as Nonviolent Communication and Spiritual Relationships. Heidi currently lives in Knoxville, Tennessee.
