Post harvest losses are the major problem and leads to considerable quantitative and qualitative loss of fruits and vegetables in developing countries.The majority of the losses either caused or influenced at farm level handling of fresh produce. So the study was conducted to know the existing situation at farm level handling of fresh produce from harvesting to marketing.The datas were obtained by interview method using scheduled questionnaire and by observation at the harvesting fields in major crop growing areas of selected fruits and vegetables (Guava,Banana and Tomato, cauliflower)in Tamil nadu state of India.
