During post election violence in Kenya which took place in 2007-2008. The communities of Sotik-Borabu border took arms and fought against each other. Lives were lost, houses were burned and property destroyed in both sides of the common border. These communities had lived together for many years and intermarried and even buying land from the other neighbors. When war broke out, many people were displaced thus becoming refugees in their own country. Even to this time of writing this book, many displaced people have not returned to their homes for fear of being attacked again although the government, non governmental organizations and churches are working urging them to return. It is this traumatic experience that triggered me to write this book. I was the Pastor of both communities because I had church members from both sides. It became difficult for me to visit my church members on the other side of the border, hence the urge to write this book. I hope this book will help readersto see the importance of peace and reconciliation and preach the same gospel so that communities who share the common border, not only in Kenya but all over the world may live peacefully together.
