As a ruling elder and Bible study leader for more than fifty years, the author has heard many prayers offered by hundreds of different people. Over these many years it has become his firm conviction that the greatest tragedy in many Christians' lives is their failure to pray in a manner that is acceptable and pleasing to God. Then they will be blessed and become the beneficiary of God's "precious and magnificent promises," (2 Peter 2:4).
