The present stydy was undertaken to investigate therapeutical potential of Lawsone and its O-alkyl derivatives.These compounds have shown Hypoglycemic,lipid lowering and antioxidant activity with ability to increase Glucokinase activity. Glucokinase, predominant hexokinase expressed in the liver, has very high control strength on hepatic glucose disposal and is the glucose sensor for insulin secretion in pancreatic Beta-cells.
