So, the presently available policies and legislations for built environment should be reviewed and assessed to know their status and this research is solely intended to do that task. This study explores the components of the city which are related with the risk of earthquake. Through a review on secondary sources, it makes the authorities of development and planning aware about the potential risk of Earthquake for Dhaka.

Imon Chowdhooree has graduated from the Dept. of Urban and Regional Planning of the University of Hawaii, USA with a focus on Disaster Management. . He is presently a faculty in the Dept. of Architecture and Post Graduate Programs in Disaster Management of BRAC University, Bangladesh. He prefers to work on hazard-resilient built environment.
