Leptin and adiponectin, two adipocytokines, as well as their receptors, have been the focus of this thesis as they, together with their genetic variations, have been linked to metabolic syndrome features. Ina Grizelj, born in 1984, studied nutritional science at the Department of Nutritional Science, Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Vienna, Austria (2005 - 2010) with main interest in the section of Emerging Focus Nutrigenomics.
