This book explains intercropping which is one of the strategies for sustainable plant production management in Organic Farming systems but it has been neglected in research on plant production as regarded complicated to manage and worth. The book mainly explains a research experiment intercropping of wheat, chickpeas and rapeseed . The research experiment provides guidelines for viable intercropping system especially wheat, chickpea and rapeseed. On the basis of various parameters including plant height, number of productive tillers of wheat (m-2), 1000 grain weight (g), number and weight of nodules of chickpea plant-1, biological yield, grain yield kg ha-1, land equivalent ratio (LER) and economic benefit intercropping was found with greater productivity, economic return per unit area over monoculture.
