Despite the knowledge of its importance as a therapy, there is paucity of literature on the attitude of the recipients towards it, particularly among medical students. This book therefore, presents the attitude that Kenyan university medical students have towards sports participation. It analyzes the students attitude towards it, and the effect of; their participation, leisure time allocation, academic level, gender, and significant others on their attitude towards sports participation. The findings provide a basis for the use of sports participation as part of therapy and are useful in the designing of effective students counselling and sporting programmes.

Irene J. Chesire, is a Counsellor and a part-time Lecturer of psychology courses at the College of Health Sciences of Moi University, Kenya. She received her bachelor¿s degree in education from Kenyatta University, a master¿s in counselling and a doctorate in educational psychology from Moi University.
