Dr Isaac Afara has BSc (hons) and PhD degrees in Electrical and Medical Engineering respectively. This book, based on his doctorate research, presents the first correlation of the optical method of near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy with the properties and conditions of articular cartilage in mammalian joints, with potential surgical applications.
