Dr. Ish Ruiz is a post-doctoral fellow of Catholic Studies at Emory University and conducts research at the intersection of Catholicism, LGBTQ+ justice, and education. Prior to his academic appointment, Ruiz worked as a religious studies teacher for eleven years at Catholic high schools in Ohio, California, and Hawaii where he served as a mentor for LGBTQ+ youth.
